وجرى افتتاح صحن فاطمة الزهراء عليها السلام بوصفه فضاء دينيا ومعماريا جديدا ضمن منظومة العتبة العلوية المقدسة يسهم في تنظيم حركة الزائرين وتهيئة مساحات مناسبة لأداء الزيارات والمناسبات الدينية بما ينسجم مع طبيعة المكان وقدسيته.
ويعد الصحن واحدا من المشاريع المهمة في العتبة العلوية لما يوفره من إمكانات خدمية وتنظيمية تسهم في دعم انسيابية الزيارة وإدامة جاهزية الموقع لاستقبال أعداد الزائرين في المواسم المختلفة.
